Commissioning Engineer – Burnley - £35k to £40k + OT

A Commissioning Engineer is required for a well-established manufacturing company in the North-West. Specialising in bespoke FMCG and food machinery.

This is a great time to join an established company with large, reputable clients and international projects. The position has arisen due to increased demand from suppliers abroad that are being faced with “Go Green” commitments necessitating changes to complete production lines. Waste and material challenges now mean that existing buyers now need to adapt to meet national and global sustainability targets.

Skill required

* Designing and modifying electrical schematics. Use of AutoCAD would be beneficial but not essential.

* Co-ordinating testing and commissioning activities and providing advice on testing and commissioning procedures and documentation.

* Producing, or assisting in the production of, all test and commissioning documentation.

* Undertaking testing and commissioning activities in line with the specified site requirements.

* Monitoring progress, recording test results, witnessing final testing and compilation of all documentation for inclusion in the site test dossier.

* Ensuring the safe testing and commissioning of completed installations to achieve the necessary plant performance in accordance with project programme requirements.

* PLC ladder logic programming experience. Program from scratch not required.

* Working with PLCs, preferably Siemens.

* Full project experience from install to on-site commissioning,

The role will be approximately 60% office based and 40% on site commissioning.

Generally, projects will consist of in-office design, creating parts lists, electrical schematics, device layouts, software and HMI programs. Once the system has been installed the same engineer would follow to site to test and commission.
