WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE?

A team leader should be approachable but firm and will actively seek to motivate others, promoting positive teamwork by maintaining high levels of energy and optimism. A team leader should actively acknowledge others` efforts, contribution and commitment to the company`s objectives. They should demonstrate drive, determination, enthusiasm and an ability to work effectively as a member and leader of a team. We expect a team leader to act as a role model, coaching/mentoring members of their team.

- To manage the daily activities of production staff.
- Planning and organisation of team so that production schedules are achieved.
- Carry out start of shift briefs, positively promoting health and safety, quality issues and production performance.
- Support the Production Supervisor.
- Control operator holidays, sickness and training.
- Control of agreed working practices.
- Ensure documentation is completed for part traceability and quality confirmation.
- Ensure that clear working instructions and other relevant information is communicated at daily start of shift briefs.
- Deal with disciplinary and personal problems positively, promptly and informally where possible following company procedures.
- Identify ways of improving the efficiency of operator and machine performance by promoting operator involvement with kaizen activity.
- Maintain '5S' standards in the workplace. Ensuring each operator has a defined area of '5S' responsibility.
- Maintain staff motivation, discipline, and development.

WHAT EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION?

- Have experience of operating CNC Cutting Machinery Plasma & Gas.
- Experience of guiding and motivating teams
- Be able to read engineering drawings (CAD drawings).
- Be computer literate.
- Be flexible to work shifts and overtime as required.
- Have previous experience within the steel industry.

WHAT ARE THE FINER DETAILS OF YOUR ROLE?

The role runs on a Temp basis for the first 12 weeks of employment, afterwards transferring onto a permanent contract.

WHAT SALARY PACKAGE YOU WILL BE RECEIVING

The hourly rate for day shift is £12, with backshift receiving 15% Shift allowance and Nightshift receiving 25% shift allowance
