My client based on the outskirts of Birmingham is looking for a Senior HR Advisor. This is a varied role and includes the management of employee relations casework for their Retail and Charity areas of work. The post holder will be responsible for the analysis of specific HR data and will produce monthly and quarterly reports on aspects of our people data. The post holder will deputise for the HR People Partner/Team Manager in their absence. In addition, as the Senior HR Advisor, the post holder will be involved in major projects across the organisation.

Please note: it is essential that you are CIPD level 5 qualified and have experience in handling TUPE and redundancies.

Main Duties of Senior HR Advisor:

Generalist Advice

Maintain personal awareness of recognised best practice, employment case law, and statutory requirements in the retail and charity sector.
Work independently and autonomously to manage complex casework including performance, grievance, capability or conduct issues up to and including dismissal. Assist with and carry out investigations and appeals as needed.
Build and sustain positive working relationships within Sense in order to influence decision making.
Adopt a coaching approach to enable managers to own their decisions.
Supporting HR People Partners across Charity, Retail and Social Care with organisation change programmes, redundancy and TUPE ensuring HR due diligence and documentation requirements are conducted effectively and are compliant with company policies and legislation.

Development & Implementation of HR Policies

Assist in the development or review of HR policy, procedure or guidance as required. Coach and support managers to understand and implement policy, guidance and practice.
Ensure all HR policies are fully implemented within the retail and charitable teams bringing any inconsistencies between policy and practice to the attention of the HR People Partner / HR Advice Team Manager.

Absence and Reporting

Manage the administration of the Company Sick Pay. On a monthly basis review sickness absence, analyse the data, calculate sickness absence entitlement and liaise with Managers and Payroll accordingly. Review and produce a quarterly report of absence trends for the HR/Management Team.
On a monthly basis analyse people-related metrics, data and trends to make recommendations to the HR People Partner/HR Advice Team Manager and the wider HR team. Develop action plans and liaise with managers to address identified people issues across the business.
The role of Senior HR Advisor requires a driven, dedicated and self-motivated individual who is looking to thrive. The role will involve some national/regional travel, so flexibility around this is essential. You will be a confident communicator along with proven experience working within a busy, fast-paced environment.
Assist with the process review and implementation of our Relief Support Workers.

Health Management and Employee Wellbeing

Review the Night Worker Risk Assessment process and ensure this is undertaken for all areas, liaising with the HR Advisors / Managers accordingly.
Assist with the responsibility and communication of various employee benefit schemes, i.e. BHSF, Cycle to Work, Health Management and Eye Care Vouchers.

Administration and General Management

Maintain close links with the other teams within the HR Department ensuring that they are aware of any relevant issues or concerns, and working with them at all times to improve the service provided to Sense.
Maintain and update employee records ensuring they are up to date and held securely in accordance with GDPR.
The post holder will carry out any additional duties commensurate with the grade and type of job.
