About the role and School description

A happy and vibrant school, placed at the western edge of Slough on the Buckinghamshire border, with a wonderfully diverse community and work atmosphere of shared British values. Aspirations are clear - to be the school of choice in the area and one of the top performing schools in Slough. They want our children to 'glow' when they talk about us and for them to achieve excellence in a range of curriculum areas, including sports and arts. Currently looking to hire a Year 4 class teacher due to a relocation. The school has 5 form entry for KS2, Senior leaders have established strong and effective teams of leaders who are clear about their roles and responsibilities. They carry them out effectively. The new academy council is clear about its roles and responsibilities and seeks to challenge school leaders robustly. However, it is not provided with sufficient information about the achievement of all groups of pupils across the school. Spiritual, moral, social and cultural development threads its way through the entire curriculum. Motivational words and phrases of the week, such as ‘aiming high’ and ‘encouragement’, are used effectively to inspire pupils to achieve the very best they can. Pupils’ achievements are regularly celebrated in the ‘star of the week’ assemblies. Pupils understand British values and recognise the importance of values such as tolerance and respect for one another. As a result, pupils are well prepared for life in modern Britain.

The post is available from April 2019 and ongoing. A lesson observation and interview with the Head will be conducted with a tour of the school.
