Swallownest Court is located on the outskirts of Rotherham Town Centre and comprises of four wards on site. Osprey 18 beds acute, Sandpiper 18 beds acute, Kingfisher 5 beds PICU and Goldcrest 19 beds rehabilitation and recovery. Our modern purpose built building is part of the All Age Mental Health Inpatient Pathway for the Rotherham Care Group.
Patient care is governed by our multi-disciplinary collaborative approach where extensive assessment and individualised treatment plans form part of our pathways whilst stabilising acute symptoms. We are committed to the ethos of the recovery model promoting hope, optimism and innovative ways of working in partnership with patients.
This post offers an excellent opportunity for an occupational therapist with in-depth knowledge and skills to provide evidence based occupational therapy assessment and intervention for people with complex mental health needs.
You will provide support and advice to the multidisciplinary inpatient team and assess the occupational and vocational needs of service users enabling them to develop independent living skills and work towards individual recovery and vocational goals.
  • You should have demonstrable post registration experience of working in mental health services.
  • You will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team supervising therapy staff and working in partnership with a range of external agencies.

The Allied Health Professionals and occupational therapy network within the organisation is well established and supportive, providing opportunities for collaboration and support related to development of occupational therapy practice and services.
We have strong links with local universities and provide regular practice placements for occupational therapy students.

Support will be offered through regular clinical and managerial supervision, in-house and external training; facilitated reflective practice sessions with our on-site Psychologists and an individual approach to your future developmental needs.
