Empowering Learning are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a mixed secondary school for students with special needs in Bolton. The school is for children aged 11- 18 who have a range of learning difficulties and additional needs. The School has small classes and provides a tailored learning approach to support students through individual targets to encourage, reach and realise their full potential.

Experience in the following areas would be an advantage but not essential:

Previous SEN Teaching Assistant experience working in a classroom environment.

Experience working with children or young adults with complex needs.

Team Teach qualified (training can be provided)

Your day-to-day duties as a SEN Teaching Assistant could include:

* Supporting students on and off school transport

* Getting the classroom ready for lessons

* Helping teachers plan lessons and prepare teaching materials

* Helping teachers manage classroom behaviour

* Supervising group and 1:1 activities

* Supporting children with their own individual learning and targets

The Successful applicant for the role of SEN Teaching Assistant will be supporting teaching and learning across the school, providing general support in the management of pupils, as directed by the class teacher for students age 11 – 18. You must be able to promote and maintain a culture of high expectations for self and others and have the enthusiasm and energy required to help students achieve their full potential.
