Litigation Solicitor – Launceston – £16,000 - £18,000

Manpower is excited to be working with our client to source a Litigation Solicitor to work in their Launceston office. Our client has been one of the most respected legal firms in the South West for over 200 years. They are committed to offering a friendly local service with emphasis on face to face contact blended with the latest technology and legal thinking to provide a premium experience at a competitive rate.

About the role

This is an ideal role for someone at the beginning of their litigation career. As Litigation Solicitor, you will be responsible for building and developing client relationships and managing a busy and diverse caseload. You are encouraged to attend relevant corporate events with the aim of raising the firm’s profile and developing an extended network of contacts.

This is a full-time role based in Launceston, so applicants need to live within a commutable distance. The hours are 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, however due to the nature of the role, some flexibility may be needed. The company offers a pension scheme, good holiday allocation and a competitive, experience-based salary.

About the Candidate

We are looking for a driven Litigation Solicitor with at least a year’s post qualification experience in all areas of litigation. Experience in civil, commercial and property law, contentious probate matters, and family law would be of benefit. Training and development will be provided with a one to one mentor, and as you settle into the role you will take on more cases. You must be flexible, willing to learn and commit to the company’s professional development programme. Effective communication skills, a good commercial awareness, and strong IT and Microsoft Office skills are desirable. We are looking for a team player who can prioritise their workload to meet tight deadlines with a sound understanding of relevant compliance issues. A knowledge of the SOS document management system would be an advantage.

About the application process.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 48 hours of application for a short telephone conversation with one of our consultants prior to being submitted to the client.
