The Role

This is a pivotal role which involves leading the Global Product Development Team and working alongside the Heads of department on the long-term product development strategy. You must have strong leadership skills and be able to prioritise workload for the team and yourself as well as working to tight deadlines. Reporting and analytical skills are the key to success within this role along with strong organisation.

Responsibilities

* Lead communication across the business for Product Development department.

* Present confidently and understand company strategies and objectives.

* Review and consider possible suggestions/requests for products solidly to support the business growth aspirations.

* Management of the overall product development strategy with the support of various team leaders on a global scale.

* Ensure the implementation of the strategy to deadlines set and in line with margin expectations.

* Communication and relationships with industry professionals including contacts overseas for sourcing, etc.

* Development of brands that fall in line with business strategy as well as marketing communication messages.

* Packaging development; ensure the brand remains fit for purpose in all selling outlets and that packaging for new and existing products are fit for purpose.

* Team management, development and structure.

* Successful implementation of gate process for each project.

* Liaise with manufacturing outlets and understand the supply chain routes high and lows with the support of other departments.

* Ensure the current and future department processes support other areas of the business in the execution of their function – sample process, QC, etc.

* Research and development within and outside of the industry with the support of the creative team to ensure a robust development product strategy.

* Review and implement the product development team’s KPI’s and review 3 times per year to ensure they achieve their overall goals.

The Candidate
The successful candidate will have the following skills and abilities:

* Enthusiastic, self-motivated, strong manager.

* Degree in Marketing or equivalent is desirable.

* Strong skills in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

* Confident communication skills.

* Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload and manage own tasks.

* Meticulous attention to detail.

* Ability to analyse data and produce reports on findings.

The Package

* £33,000 per annum plus bonus

* 28 Days Holiday inc bank holidays

* Free on-site car parking

* Hours of work are 8.30am-5.00pm Monday to Friday
