Full time permanent opportunity has arisen for a Part Qualified or Qualified Finance Manager.To have oversight of all matters relating to the administration of all school finances and to ensure such matters are handled in accordance with regulations to a high level of efficiency.
This particularly applies to the provision of management information and operation of the schools’ bank accounts.
To act as a key staff member supporting the academies’ senior leadership team and also work closely with the Trust’s central Finance team.
The ideal candidate will be Qualified or Part Qualified working towards full qualification.
To ensure that the Finance function operates effectively and efficiently and in line with academy and Trust regulations.
To ensure that the Trust's financial strategy is implemented across all academies in the federation.
To manage the school/academy funds and associated bank accounts.
Oversee the maintenance of all school accounts, including preparing payment runs and ensuring that cashflow is managed.
To lead on preparing a draft annual and three year budget, highlighting all known significant risks and to agree this budget with the Executive Principal, Governors and Trust.
To complete monthly management accounts within the specified time limits, including meeting with the Executive Principal each month to review year end forecasts.
To ensure that budget holders and Head Office receive monthly updated reports in line with Trust regulations.
To monitor income and expenditure
To complete month and year end financial processes promptly and in line with the Trust Finance Manual.
To ensure that all academy procurement is in line with the Trust Finance Manual and maximises value for money.
VAT legislation, and all postings comply with Trust guidance on VAT.
Financial plan that links to the school development plan and will inform future year budgets.
To ensure that the monthly payroll is processed and authorised correctly and posted to the finance system in a timely manner.
To explore opportunities to boost self generated income.
To monitor the effectiveness and implementation of all contracts and agreements, ensuring that best value for money is being achieved.
To ensure that banking/accounting of all monies is undertaken in line with the correct procedures.
To support the internal and external audit processes and contribute to reports and implement agreed recommendations.
