The Just Recruitment Group are currently recruiting for a Head Of Design for their prestigious client based in the Essex area.

The role of the Head of Design is to lead, manage and oversee the Design team and the individual designers within it. Responsible for orchestrating and planning projects in conjunction with the Client Services Director, Creative Director and Project Management Office (PMO) team to ensure their high level on time delivery.

Standard bearer of the Design team by demonstrating this through both own working practice and, the way you authorise and administer the work of your team.

Maintaining consistency throughout the life-span of each project from the initial design concept to the physical fit-out. This role is split between two phases:

The ‘Concept Design Phrase’ – Responsible for creating and visualising a full working design theme that adheres to our customer journey experience philosophy. This will be inclusive of space-planning, technical specifications,

interior design and seamless brand connection.

The ‘Implementation phase’ – Required to oversee the project delivery on site from a physical perspective. This will be a quality control exercise and be inclusive of monitoring the layout, build quality, specification, finishes and the

roll-out interior design theme, in conjunction with the PMO.

Responsibilities of the role include:


• Team leader/senior management status.

• Management and guidance of the Designers through their responsibilities.

• Administering and maintaining high working standards.

• Senior technical design support.

• High level project management, quality control and final project delivery.

• Excellent communication with Managing Director, Account Director and PMO.

• Creative and interior design theme conception.

• Overseeing the delivery of a full creative scheme presentation.

• Client facing duties and meeting attendance.


• On site project management from a creative perspective.

• Overseeing interior fit-out process alongside the PMO.

• Ensuring the correct creative delivery.

• Working alongside client representatives.

• Continual communication with Managing Director, Account Director and PMO.

• Execution of the interior design theme.

• Sourcing furnishings/materials/suppliers within your team.

• Overseeing the manufacture of bespoke furniture items within your team.

• Liaising with external contractors/suppliers when required.

• Reporting into the board monthly.

• Taking an active senior management role within the business.

Experience required:

A relevant degree or similar level/achievement.

• A previous position held within a similar role.

• Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD and SketchUp.

• SolidWork and Vectorworks (preferred).

• Ability to multi-task various goals and objectives.

• An outstanding knowledge base in construction, shop

• fitting or interior design fit out.

• Deadline driven.

• Excellent planning and organisational skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication and

• interpersonal skills.

• Exceptional attention to detail.
