Part time Accounts Assistant

I am representing a very well-established company, based in Scarborough. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Purchase Ledger/Accounts Receivable Clerk to take on a familiar role, with a view to gain a full understanding of all duties within the department.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for managing the monthly billings cycle, sales ledger, credit control, dealing with any client related queries, accounts payable and other ad-hoc duties to support the finance team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process invoices on time and follow all control procedures

• Raise and receive purchase orders

• Create and process monthly payment runs

• Inputting Purchase Payments onto Sage

• Supplier statement reconciliations

• Payment remittances and updating with suppliers to compare ledgers

• Mileage recharges and reconciliations

• Enter supplier invoices onto SAGE and authorising

• Daily filling

• Credit control and managing aged debt

• Notify Leadership of any price increases/differences

• Run off bank statements and reconcile with SAGE

• Check all payments on bank statements are allocated on SAGE to correct nominal/account

• Raise/Issue remittances through SAGE

• Update SAGE supplier records regularly

• Obtain updated price lists from suppliers

• Update SAGE with receipts as per procedure (ID finance procedure)Work with Sales for collection of debt as per Aged Debt report

• Notify Managing Director of any issues raised on Aged Debt - late/slow payers, unusual behaviour, intelligence received

The successful Accounts Assistant will have gained a minimum of 1-2 years working in a similar role. The ideal candidate must have experience in purchase ledger, credit control and SAGE, you must know the process and control element of the job.

You will be responsible for taking ownership of your work, be self-motivated and organised.

This is a part-time positions of 20 hours per week and the successful candidate will ideally work over 5 days. Flexible working hours.
