Position: Project Manager - Marine

Location: Surrey

Salary Guide: £40,000 - £45,000 plus 10% bonus and excellent benefits

Our client has created an innovative Ballast Water Treatment System preventing the spread of invasive species to local marine environments. They have a century-long relationship with the maritime industry and the customers include shipbuilders, industry subcontractors, vessel owners and operators.

They are recruiting for a Project Manager to join their Marine Division delivering projects for retrofit installations of ballast treatment systems and to be the point of contact for customers, external partners and within the organization.

Managing a Ballast retrofit project can include; planning and coordination of on-board visits for survey and 3D scanning, engineering, class approval, delivery of equipment, installation and commissioning.

Key tasks include:

* Planning and coordinating multiple customer retrofit projects installations.

* Make sure delivery from the Company is in line with the customer contract.

* Communicate and manage the cooperation with all involved partners, both internal and external contacts.

* Control the contract and content of delivery.

* Monitor deviations between product and customer demands and ensure they are highlighted and addressed.

* Submit orders to the factory based on customer’s purchase orders.

* Monitor deliveries and coordinate shipping of equipment with factory and customer.

* Store and distribute technical documentation between project parties, such as technical documentation for design and installation, engineering documents from external partners and technical feedback from product specialists.

* Coordinate service visits for survey, installation supervision and commissioning with customer and local service engineers.

* Regular status reporting.

* Support the sales organisation in the sales process.

Your profile:

* An experienced project manager used to working in a highly international business environment, with multiple internal and external contacts, worldwide.

* Preferably educated to Bachelor degree level to support your experience gained in similar roles.

* Experienced of working within the marine industry and a high level of understanding of technology.

* Experience of engineering and installation will be an advantage, as will the understanding of working through a large matrix organisation.

* Service minded and have a strong mindset for business. A good communicator, you are also a self-starter, able to use your initiative and problem solving skills to carry out the role in a creative manner
