Working in the Development Department the Graphics Programmer will create graphics, animations and simulations for use in computer-delivered curriculum materials.

Job Activities
1. Modifying simulations and applications originally developed in Adobe Flash.
2. Working from a brief to construct computer-delivered and paper-based curriculum materials that include text, graphic, animation, video, voice and sound components.
3. Using a number of software packages that are standard issue within the Development
4. Assisting in the development, testing and releasing new functionality on the company’s websites.
5. Populating the company’s websites with data provided from other areas of the company (Sales & Marketing, Support and Development).
6. Assisting in monitoring and analysing performance data from the company’s web server(s).
7. Following test procedures to check curriculum materials.
8. General day-to-day activities within the Development Department, including general
housekeeping disciplines.

The person carrying out this role must:
1. Have the ability to use applications to fulfil the requirements of the job activities. The applications include: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Animate, Adobe Flash, Adobe Air, Adobe Dreamweaver, Autodesk 3ds Max, Solidworks, Sonic SoundForge, Adobe Premiere, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and in-house curriculum editors.

2. Have an in-depth knowledge of Web design techniques.

3. Have experience in web development using a variety of programming languages and
applications including: HTML, XML, ASP, JavaScript, ActionScript, Flash, SQL and database design.

4. Have the ability to create programming flowcharts and write pseudo code.

5. Have a good level of understanding of Microsoft Windows server operating systems and

6. Have the ability to use Word Processors, Spreadsheets, Project Management and configuration utilities.

7. Have excellent interpersonal and customer relation skills and possess the ability to communicate well with people at all levels, both verbally and in writing.

8. Be able to ensure the highest standards of confidentiality and conduct in all areas of activity
