MacScott Bond Ltd (part of the MacTaggart Scott Group) was formed in 1975 to build on the hard won reputation and expertise of MacTaggart Scott & Co Ltd in fluid power applications in the marine defence sector, but to operate principally in other market sectors. The Loanhead division is located on the same site as MacTaggart Scott & Co Ltd near Edinburgh and, although a much smaller company, it has access to the vast knowledge and experience within MacTaggart Scott, associated with over 100 years of world-class excellence and has successfully completed many prestigious projects in the civil, marine, offshore, mining and industrial sectors.

Role:

MacScott Bond’s Loanhead Division have a vacancy for an Internal Sales Assistant. This role will primarily work towards increasing sales of fluid power components through effective sales and marketing strategies. We are looking for a proactive individual who is motivated and driven to achieve results and will work with us to grow our business. Whilst previous experience in sales is desirable, it is not essential.

Duties will include:

* Gaining a full understanding of all the products available to MacScott Bond customers in order to deal effectively with customer enquiries.

* Working closely with other staff members, in particular the sales team (internal and external), to maximize sales.

* Liaising with customers and processing orders to ensure expectations are fully met and exceeded.

* Taking enquiries, sending quotes, and confirming orders quickly and accurately.

* Attending sales meetings with clients.

* Assisting with the packaging/despatch of customer orders.

* Carrying out administration duties and processing information using the company database whilst keeping all existing customer and order information fully up to date.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have:

* Previous experience within an engineering/technical capacity.

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to converse effectively with customers and suppliers at all levels.

* Strong influencing and negotiating skills.

* Solid numerical skills.

* Proficiency in the use of IT systems including Microsoft packages.

* A full, clean driving licence
