The Schools:

Supply desk are proud to be working in partnership with Buckinghamshire County Council and are therefore supporting a varity of special needs, Primary, and Secondary schools in Buckinghamshire. Due to an increase in volume we are seeking dedicated supply special needs support staff to work in a variety of SEND and SEN 1:1 mainstream roles on daily and short term positions. We also have longer term options available.

As a special needs supply teaching assistant you will have some of the following responsibilities;

Supporting students with severe and complex needs including Autism and Asperger’s, down syndrome and cerebral palsy
Providing students with personal care assistance
Managing challenging behaviour
Collaborating with the teacher and assisting with creating activities
Recording students’ progress and feeding back to the teacher
Will work one to one with some students

The ideal candidate will have /be;

Previous experience working with children who have special needs or transferrable experience
knowledge of SEN
Able to manage challenging behaviour
Able to be flexible and travel to a variety of schools across Buckinghamshire
Has a clear and valid DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
Able to assist pupils/ students with personal care
