Primary Learning Support Assistants needed in Andover

We are currently working with a special school in Andover that caters for primary aged pupils with complex special needs, specifically complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The needs of attending pupils are varied, but may include:

* Extreme behaviour problems

* Anti-social and disengaged behaviour


* Extreme anxiety or depression

The school caters for 55 pupils currently, but is increasing to take on 15 additional pupils and as a result in undertaking a recruitment drive to support this new growth. The school offers young children an opportunity to develop academically, emotionally and socially; in an environment outside of mainstream school setting. The school are looking for 6 new members of staff to start immediately or asap!

The role:

For this role applicants will be working in classes formed of between 7 and 9 pupils, working on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis collaboratively with the class teacher and 2 or 3 additional Support Workers. The role will operate between 8.30 and 3.30, Monday to Friday. Full time is preferred but part time applicants may still apply, as job shares can be available.

* £9.00 - £10.00 per hour dependent on experience and qualifications

The candidate:

Applicants must have previous experience working with complex behaviour or challenging needs, either professionally or personally. A minimum of GCSE English and Maths (A-C) in a minimum requirement; with further education being beneficial. Additional qualifications which may be useful include: Team Teach or PECS.
