We are currently looking to recruit a Budget Analyst to complement our Feasibility, Proposals and Budgets function.

Joining this close knit, collaborative team, the Budget Analyst will be responsible for reviewing information from protocols, entering details into our Synexus Pricing Tool, and producing accurate cost estimates for future and current clinical trials at Synexus.

No two days are the same and this truly varied role will also involve supporting the Feasibility and Proposals teams with the cost estimate generation, documentation and report generation to secure contracts and effective handover to Finance and Projects. In addition, the Budget Analyst will support the business by conducting analysis of previous costs and metrics and using data to provide business benchmarks.

This role will be based out of our UK Head Office, near Chorley, with some flexibility around working from home.
Package description Bonus: up to 10% based on group, country and personal performance

Main responsibilities Key roles and responsibilities for the Budget Analyst are:


Set up of the Synexus Pricing Tool for opportunities based on a complete review of the protocol to identify any activities that may need to be added to the cost estimate.
Generation of the Synexus budget to reflect Synexus and client needs, being aware of the scope, study logistics and strategy across all countries and ensure that the budget is sufficient to cover anticipated costs.
Work closely with key internal stakeholders to deliver high quality budgets and ensure the quality of their conversion to contracts.
Check the quality of data contained within the Synexus Pricing Tool, to identify any errors, inconsistencies between countries or deviation from the required scope / protocol requirements.
Work with contracts to ensure awarded studies reflect the final protocol. Review costs within the final contract.
Maintenance of systems to support the reporting and tracking of Feasibility, Proposals and Budgets team metrics
Support the team with training, support and mentoring as and when required, developing and coaching them towards team and business success.
Comply with Synexus COPs, SOPs and highlight areas for improvement.
Collate an ongoing list of updates and potential improvements to the Synexus Pricing Tool.
Conduct and present detailed analysis of data as needed to help support feasibility requests
Assist with collection of data from key stakeholders and perform additional research as required
Assist with the timely, concise and accurate hand over of studies to the project manager and finance team as needed, insuring they are aware of any areas of risk that may impact delivery.



Ideal candidate To be considered for this exciting, challenging opportunity you will need the following skills and experience:


Similar previous experience gained in a financial/budget/proposals role within a dynamic, fast moving business
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills –analytical/problem solving capability to investigate, amend, improve formulas
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Capable of prioritising workload and be comfortable with working to strict deadlines
Highly self-motivated, capable of working autonomously paired with the ability to multi-task, keeping track of numerous activities and responsibilities at any one time
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong customer service orientation
Flexible, hardworking, proactive and willingness approach to work with a ‘can do’ / positive attitude to challenges
On occasion, have the flexibility to attend calls and meetings in the evenings or early morning with those working in different time zones
