Respected and growing commercial law firm with offices in the Home Counties and London offering a broad range of legal services to its clients seeks to capitalize upon the cross-selling opportunities that exist within other practice areas and also its relevant client base to establish a dedicated banking law department.
The firm currently covers the main practice areas including corporate, commercial real estate and commercial litigation with the balance comprised of private client, employment and residential property.
One of the differentiating factors of the firm is its established and profitable international division which has dedicated desks covering some of the most active markets including China, India and Russia and several main European jurisdictions. Headed by lawyers originally from these jurisdictions they generate work not only in their own specialist practice areas but across most of their other main departments.
The international department along with corporate and commercial real estate have created profitable panel relationships with a number of international banks as well as domestic UK banks ranging from tier 1 to tier 4 status. They currently have panel appointments for areas such as property finance, litigation and some secured lending. The relationship with a number of their banking clients is strong and they are in a position where they could capitalise upon these existing relationships by creating a dedicated transactional banking department.
Accordingly, the Management Committee of the firm have taken the decision to hire a partner to head up the new department with responsibility for building a profitable practice. The likely profile of the incoming partner is an individual who is currently head of banking with a smaller to mid-sized firm with broad experience to include areas such as syndicated lending, asset based finance, leasing and factoring, acquisition finance and real estate finance. Those in a position to bring a small team would be ideal and you will also have the ability to bring a partial or full client base with you to cover costs while you exploit the opportunities of the firm's own banking clients and continue to further develop and cross-sell your own clients into the new platform.
Outstanding opportunity to join a highly commercial firm that has huge potential going forward.
