Business Systems Specialist (Reporting)
The university seeks the appointment of a suitably qualified and experienced reporting specialist to assist with the creation of a new dashboard reporting solution to meet further and higher educational reporting needs. You will be responsible for gathering user requirements, developing the system, undertaking user acceptance testing, documentation and training on the system. This support role requires good customer service, responding to support calls and working with a variety of stakeholders to implement the new system. The successful candidate will have an HND or higher, in IT or a related subject and working knowledge of SQL. Working in a small team you will be expected to build and maintain good relationships with university executive office and academic partner customers and have the ability to work under their own initiative when required. This will require some element of travelling to academic partner sites throughout the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. The role holder must have a strong understanding of the importance of change control, creating supporting documentation, training and customer service. The role holder must also have demonstrable experience of providing realistic work estimates and plans, whilst dealing with conflicting and competing priorities to allow themselves and their colleagues to meet set deadlines.
