Procurement Manager (UK and Europe): Due to impressive and sustained growth a highly organised and pragmatic Procurement Manager with experience of managing 2,000+ SKUs across UK and European markets is required to lead the domestic and international purchasing / procurement function for one of the UK’s leading transit packaging suppliers.

The successful Procurement Manager will develop and manage a growing team and systems to ensure cost, quality and service efficiencies are maintained an improved upon. Nurturing relationships with new and existing suppliers to maintain accurate stock management is key to this role. The ideal candidate will have experience of managing multi-location stock control, people management skills and sourcing from the Far East. Applications are particularly welcome from individuals with fluency in Swedish, ideally, or Danish.
Key requirements:
• Analyse core products, identify new suppliers and nurture relationships with new and existing suppliers to get the very best prices without sacrificing quality or delivery times
• Develop and implement strategic direction for improvements including efficiencies, procuring and maintaining stock levels
• Negotiate with shipping agents and suppliers for better terms e.g. credit limits, delivery terms etc
• Proactive involvement with the sales team and customer services e.g. to provide timely responses, source products appropriately in a systematic way
• Developing new or improved systems and procedures to bring about efficiencies
• Negotiate excellent prices, new rebate agreements, delivery times etc from suppliers to potentially grow spend
• Monitoring KPI’s and regular reporting to management team being accountable for results
• Work closely with other internal operational areas for better stock rotation, improved stockholding and target overstocks.
• Implement supplier approval and monitoring measures and ensure suppliers have appropriate and necessary accreditation.
• Manage the procurement team developing capability as team grows and providing opportunity for development
• Act as a member of the senior management team contributing to wider strategic debates and organisational direction
Skills & experiences
• At least 3 years in a relevant procurement role
• Experience of working with an international company
• Wider experience of working with senior management teams
• Control of stock across multi-sites
• Sourcing products in UK, Europe and Far East
• Understanding of import processes
• Appropriate procurement qualification or membership of CIPS (Desirable)
• People Management responsibility
• Experience of using Orderwise, Salesforce, SalesI (Desirable)
