The University of Manchester seeks an exceptional individual for this senior fundraising and leadership position. With a distinguished history of academic achievement, The University of Manchester is internationally renowned as a world-class teaching and research institution with a unique emphasis on social responsibility. We are England’s first civic university and remain entwined with our city, which shares our pioneering, boundless spirit.

With 25 Nobel Prize winners among its current and former staff and students, we have a history of world firsts and brilliant discoveries, from splitting the atom, to the first stored-program computers, to giving the world the brand-new wonder material, ‘graphene’. The University’s vision is to be one of the leading universities in the world through its commitment to world-class research, outstanding learning and student experience, and social responsibility.

Fundraising and Alumni Engagement are an integral part of the University of Manchester today. The President & Vice Chancellor recognises the enormous value alumni and donors can bring to the University, not only through their generous financial support and investment but with their expertise, time and influence.

The Head of Philanthropy will be an experienced major gift fundraiser, responsible for leading the major gifts team to raise significant gift income. Leading by example, you will manage a portfolio of relationships with alumni and significant philanthropists, to secure gifts for bold, impactful projects and programmes across the University.
