Apprenticeship Team Leader for Early Years, Children & Education

(Salary £35,882 - £36,959)

Each year approximately 500 young people choose to continue their studies with us either as a full-time student or apprentice, a further 200 choose to undertake a university-level qualification with us and around 100 adult students. Overall we have around 5,500 full-time students in the College and 700 in our University Campus.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Apprenticeship Team for the appointment of a Team Leader for our Early Years, Children and Education Sector.

This role involves the day to day leadership and operational management of our early years, childcare and teaching and learning provison. This role also has a teaching commitment.

The successful candidate will have an up to date knowledge of the key priorities for this Sector, its employers and the current Apprenticeship landscape. They will work with the Sector Manager to provide outstanding Apprenticeship opportunities and, as one of the the Tutors for the Team, deliver excellent teaching, learning and assessment for our learners. We are looking for a proven track record of managing a team of assessment and teaching staff, curriculum design and delivery and of responding to quality improvement feedback.

The post holder will:

  • Manage the assessment and teaching team to deliver responsive, effective and efficient learning and assessment
  • Drive and improve rates of progress and achievement across Apprenticeship and part time programmes
  • Maximise recruitment, retention progression rates of learners
  • Engage with employers effectively and respond to individual employer needs
  • Ensure excellent customer service to enhance the learner experience
  • Contriubute to the continuous quality improvement of a growing curriculum area
  • Contribute effectively to the achievement of team objectives

The post holder will be enrolled into the Teachers Pension Scheme and will be entitled to 37 days annual leave per year, plus Bank Holidays.
