Finance Analyst - Music

£50,000 to £55,000 + Amazing benefits


Superb opportunity to join the music industry's leading global sales data and research group that works with all the major music companies across the globe.

Reporting to the Head of Sales Reporting this is a highly commercial role with a focus on financial analysis/market intelligence, data analysis as well as more traditional revenue reporting/accounting.

This is perfect for an ACA newly/recently qualified with a background in audit/corporate finance/transaction services and is a rare opportunity to move straight from practice into a commercial finance role in the music industry.

Main responsibilities:
• Key point of contact for industry analysis for key stakeholders, global sales reporting, market performance and other analytical queries.
• Perform analysis to determine revenue drivers, market limiting factors and barriers to entry in different markets.
• Ad-hoc financial Analysis for Music Labels.
• Work with the Music Industry Forecasting team to help them understand market developments and revenue drivers.
• Review of processes and controls that ensure Sales Data is input accurately by all companies, suggest improvements and establish best practice controls.
• Manage relationships with external auditors who perform Agreed Upon Procedures on IFPI's global market share analysis.
• Provide technical expertise on IFRS (especially IFRS 15) and assist in updating the Reporting Standards.
• Identify sales reporting issues to be raised with the Global Finance Committee.
• Regularly liaise with National Groups across the world promoting sales reporting consistency and dealing with associated queries.
• Take ownership of the quarterly data collection process, ensuring all companies meet reporting deadlines and deal with any Sales Reporting questions and issues.

Required Experience:

• Newly-qualified (ideally ACA with experience working in Transaction Services or Corporate Finance, M&A)
• Commercially minded with a strong academic background
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to look at both the detail and the bigger picture
• Strong interpersonal skills necessary to develop relationships with colleagues across departments and also from the different territories
• Effective time management skills with ability to prioritise workload to changing demands
• Exposure to the media sector preferred but not essential
