Summary

The National Trust is a busy organisation that has a lot going on at all times - you can guarantee that no day is the same so you’ll have to love variety. You will be supporting our Food & Beverage teams in Central & East Lakes, this role will be based at Sticklebarn but you may be required to travel throughout the portfolio. You’ll always champion best practice when it comes to business support, and will be confident challenging the norm when you think there’s a better way of doing something.

What it's like to work here

Sticklebarn is located in the Langdale Valley 7 miles from the busy tourist town of Ambleside. Due to the relative ease of accessibility both through public and own transport the Langdale Valley remains one of the most visited places in the Central Lakes. The National Trust has a wide presence in the valley through significant land ownership, 3 car parks, a campsite and Sticklebarn completed the offer for our visitors.

Over the past 3 years Sticklebarn has undertaken a journey of self-discovery, we have learnt so much and implemented a lot of change. Together we have created a strong team, strategy and set of core values which provides a strong platform to deliver our 10 year vision. We are here to provide a fantastic welcome to visitors in Langdale, not only providing great food and drink but to create an environment where stories are heard, told and shared.

We host a large program of events and offers, working closely with our key partners we aim to deliver experiences that move, teach and inspire our visitors whilst also working to reduce our environmental impact.

What you'll be doing

Known for your exceptional organisational skills and your love of delivering first class support, you’ll provide a comprehensive administration service to your property team. You’ll be confident using a variety of IT packages to keep accurate records, process payments and manage stock systems. You’ll run a tight ship, and will soon be the go to person for your team.

Who we're looking for

Our team love to be busy, and so will you. So to hit the ground running, you will need to be:

  • Helpful and approachable
  • Have clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Can easily identify with people’s needs
  • Experienced with administrative duties, including up-to-date knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Take pride on delivering excellent customer and administrative service
  • Enjoy working as part of a team and flexing your time and focus to support others
  • Experience in where you have had to prioritise your own workload
  • Advanced IT Skills (Microsoft Office) and ability to use digital/social media and other marketing channels
  • Good eye for detail
