Workforce Scheduling Analyst

We have a brand-new opportunity for a Workforce Planning Analyst to join our Workforce Management team here in our Deeside Head Office. The aim of the role is to ensure effective planning of an efficient workforce to optimise productivity and drive improvements in accuracy, compliance and cost control across both Iceland and The Food Warehouse.

Requirements of the role:

  • Support and challenge Area Managers with risks and opportunities within planning and scheduling.
  • Increase opportunities for Sales Growth through optimised service scheduling.
  • Support Store Managers & Area Manager with planning and scheduling issues.
  • Drive effective service planning to ensure focus is on the customer.
  • Proactively identify risks that can be addressed through optimised workforce planning
  • Be first line support and subject matter expert on the use and maintenance of scheduling tools for Retail
  • Create and develop appropriate reporting in-line with the needs of the business and specific functions, e.g. Retail, HR, Finance
  • Use advanced analytical skills and software such as MS Excel and Teradata SQL to develop insights that address key planning issues
  • Drive improvements of accuracy, compliance and performance in WFM planning measures.
  • Provide support and training to Store Managers on optimal planning and scheduling as required.
  • Produce Store specific staffing profiles and communicate opportunities to increase flexibility

Key Success Criteria:

  • Experience working with Operational Management to plan, forecast and allocate resource based on business demands
  • Experience in forecasting and the development of workforce plans (head count planning, scheduling etc.)
  • Experience of extracting and analysing complex data from multiple sources
  • Experience in report production –communicating data in a meaningful format articulating expectations and desired outcomes.
  • A very high degree of critical and analytical thinking to solve complex problems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of Teradata SQL Assistant
  • Mathematical with a focus on accuracy in managing data and associated information
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
