Specialist Teacher for SEMH provisions
Qualified or newly qualified teacher? Want to hit the ground running working with young people?
Teaching Personnel are looking for Specialist Teachers in core subjects like Maths, English and Science to join provisions in Berkshire that care for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.
These are young people who are unable to stay in mainstream education and need to continue their tutoring whilst receiving access to medical attention.
These settings provide care for young people with varying degrees of needs, including those with eating disorders, drug and alcohol addictions and who are undergoing a mental health crisis.
You will be creating individual lesson plans tailored to the ability of each young person you teach. Typically the people in these settings are between 12-18 years old and therefore many of them will be preparing for sitting exams.
You will facilitate their learning during this important transitional time with the intention of rehabilitating them back into mainstream education or the next stage in their lives.
It is important you can liaise with parents/carers and other agencies such as medical staff and social services about the progress of your students.
Teaching Personnel offer competitive daily rates for this role ranging from £110-£140.
