Salary Up to £40,000 per annum

The Role

A very well-established Shared Service Centre in Leicester is looking for a Business Accountant Team Leader to join them on a permanent basis.

In this role, you will be involved in the following:

  • Managing a team within the accountancy function for a set of business units, including standards accruals and prepayments, P&L review and ad hoc queries;

  • Manage the recruitment and selection of team members;

  • Conducting Performance Development Dialogues, setting individual and team objectives and identifying development needs and reviewing progress of individuals and the team as a whole;

  • Liaise with the R2R manager on recruitment, succession planning, disciplinary issues, salary reviews, budgets and decisions about resource levels and team structure;

  • Manage daily operations;

  • Allocate work and resources within the team to ensure a timely and efficient service is provided;

  • Monitor controls within the team so that SLA's and any statutory requirements are met;

  • Promoting good customer relations and continuously improve the service the teams provides;

  • Conduct regular team briefings and keep individuals and the team informed about developments within the business;

  • Motivate staff to ensure maximum performance;

  • Be involved in project work with the R2R team, but also within the group.

The Candidate

You will need to be an experienced Accountant, having previously been involved in a team-leading or management role, as well as:

  • Be fully or part-qualified within Accounting or be qualified by experience;

  • A good understanding of the Record to Report function;

  • A basic understanding of VAT, corporation tax and personal tax;

  • Excellent customer and colleague relationship skills;

  • Very good management and leadership capability;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

  • Computer literacy.

The Package

  • Up to £40,000 per annum + 10% bonus;

  • Full-time hours;

  • 25 days' holiday + bank holidays
