Job overview:

We are currently looking for an analytical, passionate individual to become an IT Support Analyst Apprentice.

We will support you throughout your apprenticeship and provide you with the right tools to succeed.

Main role / Responsibilities [will include but not be limited to]:

Working as part of a busy IT Service Desk, the Technical Support Analyst will provide ongoing desktop and application-based support to over 650 employees across the Optionis Group.

You will be required to log, prioritise, investigate and resolve a wide variety of support issues to ensure the effective and efficient running of essential business systems and functions.

Main Responsibilities:

Providing 1st line support for all 12 Optionis sites Delivering exceptional customer service Answer Service Desk Calls with high level of Customer Service and provide 1st Line fixes where appropriate Triage of all incidents and service requests Drive through resolutions and escalate to 3rd party suppliers when necessary Configuration and installation of desktop systems and software Liaising with 3rd party suppliers to resolve technical issues Ensuring high system availability and customer satisfaction Travel to satellite offices when required by the business Create and maintain knowledge base articles to share workarounds and document solutions for known issues Document standard changes or standard operating procedures

Desired qualities, skills and knowledge:

Customer focused and service driven Good working knowledge of Windows Knowledge of networking principles and able to troubleshoot network / user connectivity issues Excellent oral and written communication skills Exceptional interpersonal, including teamwork and working co-operatively to achieve a common goal Flexible approach to work and excellent problem-solving ability Ability to prioritise and use own initiative Good range of analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to build effective relationships Passionate, committed and energetic, creates personal momentum, which inspires others Thinks ‘win win’, can be trusted to deliver on agreed commitments

Desired qualification requirements:

3 x GCSE (or equivalent) at grades A-C in any subject, plus GCSE English and Maths (or equivalents) at grade D or above.

Working week:

Monday to Friday,

9:00am-5:00pm (a degree of flexibility may be required to occasionally work outside this hours)


£10,000 per annum

QA’s apprenticeships are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for Education.

To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.
