Job Title: Technical Sales Manager

Working Days/ Hours: Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm

Salary & Benefits: £22,000 - £24,000 (OTE £32,000) & uncapped commission

Location: Castleford

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Director you will be responsible for all aspects of the Technical function. You will maintaining close relationships with both vendors and suppliers to maximise both profit and customer satisfaction.

Daily Responsibilities

Advise customers of the type of Server, Networking and Storage Equipment required to meet their individual needs
Managing a small pot of customer accounts
Work with major end users to develop server and networking solutions
Assist with the role out of Cloud services
Raise the higher end server quotes for the team
Providing pre-sales technical advice to team and customers
Raise any special bid requests with the vendors
Manage product training for the team assisted by the Commercial director
Speak to vendors/suppliers regarding new product lines
Manage the building and configuration of servers, SAN, Work stations, etc.
Manage the server build room

Technical Knowledge Required

Understand the different types of components for servers and storage devices
Ability to assemble and configure servers and desk tops.
Understand different raid technologies and their appropriate application
Basic understanding of IP and Cloud telephony technologies (such as SIP)
Have an understanding of virtualisation and virtualisation technologies.
Ability to diagnose / fault find configuration issues on equipment.

Product Knowledge Required

Virtualisation products (Hyper-V / V-Sphere)
Servers (Tower, Rack and Blade)
Networking equipment (Switches, Routers, AP’s & Firewalls)
PCs & laptops
Good working knowledge of HP, Fijitsu, Dell & Lenovo products
Good understanding of Microsoft licensing
Back up technologies and Software
