HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join an established Mechanical HVAC Engineering company in the North West London area (NW10)

Health & Safety Manager Duties & Responsibilities:

* The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for the HSEQ Compliance, the planning, implementation, management, co‐ordination and managed input for Health and Safety across the company and all their projects

* Carry out risk assessments and evaluate and implement cost effective measures to reduce risk to its lowest practicable level.

* Produce reports for issue to Directors on a monthly basis, and maintain a high profile for H&S through staff briefings, training sessions for staff development, newsletters and bulletins as appropriate

* Maintain and implement the Company’s Health and Safety Training Matrix ensuring staff competency levels across the business are maintained.

* Conduct regular workplace inspections to monitor the effectiveness of the safety policy, procedures and practices.

* Ensure project documents folders are complete, current and well organised

* Ensure all risk assessment/method statements – H&S is up to date and being implemented, making sure the quality standards are met

* Liaise with clients efficiently and effectively

* A flexible, ‘can-do’ approach is essential due to duties that may fall outside of Health and Safety i.e. working as part of wider team.

Health & Safety Manager Skills, Experience and Training:

* NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent

* Communication and presentation skills sufficient to establish credibility with a ‘knowledge’ worker at meetings, briefings and via written documents

* Soft skills sufficient to enable influencing, persuading, and coaching of staff across the business.

* Broad knowledge of risk assessment practices.

* Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and externally hosted Computer Based Training Programs

* Experience within Building Services sector, preferably related to Mechanical, Electrical or HVAC.

Health & Safety Manager Salary and Benefits:

* Salary is dependent on level of experience. Anywhere up to £55,000 - negotiable

* 20 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

* Company Pension Scheme
