Eden Brown Education is pleased to working with a ‘GOOD' rated High School in Manchester to appoint a Teacher of Geography.

This role is to support the development of the humanities in the School. The successful candidate will contribute to the Main Lesson programme in Geography / History with the addition of Politics/Philosophy/Economics, depending upon experience and specialist knowledge. This role will also contribute to the development of the curriculum and class/pupil support in the form of Form Tutor positions (depending on experience).

Purpose of the job

- Teach Main Lesson humanities (depending on specialism)

- Contribute to curriculum development

- Teach Geography and/or History to KS3, KS4 and preferably KS5, in exam and non-exam subjects

- Provide a nurturing and inspiring classroom and school environment that helps students to develop as learners and individuals

- Provide outstanding teaching and learning within the classroom environment

- Ensure a supportive and innovative education experience that evidences good progress of all students commensurate to their abilities

- Prepare, deliver and assess learning to a high standard

Main duties and responsibilities

- To undertake Humanities main lessons in Geography, History and/or Humanities

- To teach GCSE Geography and/or History

- To teach A level Geography and/or History

- To attend Subject teacher and Faculty meetings

- To engage with the wider school community as Tutor and Guardian

- To complete half termly tracking and annual reports on all pupils taught

- To liaise with Tutors and Form Tutors on individual and class needs and development

- To attend inset and professional training days

- To organise and undertake school field trips

Person Specification

- MUST HOLD UK QTS (Or be in the process of obtaining) or other relevant teaching qualification

- Strong understanding of the Geography curriculum to KS4 (KS5 desirable) is required

- Must be willing to work effectively within a growing School and Department

- You must be looking to develop as a Geography Practitioner
