Teacher required for a specialist school working with young people with emotional and behavioural needs

A fantastic opportunity for an exceptional Teacher, specialising in any subject for secondary school students, to join our small independent specialist school in Dumfries.

We need you to help us to continue providing a great education for our young people with behavioural difficulties and additional learning needs.

Our school provides education to young people with behavioural difficulties who live in our residential homes.This is a challenging yet rewarding role where you will flourish within an environment where you can make a positive difference to our young people's lives.

The role of Teacher at Netherlea School will see you plan, prepare and deliver quality, challenging and exciting science and mathematics lessons to ensure that our learners have varied learning opportunities, appropriate to their individual needs.

As Teacher as Netherlea School, you will monitor, assess, record and report on all aspects of the progress and development of pupils in your subjects and more widely; contributing to raising standards of pupil achievement and attainment.

Reporting directly to the Head Teacher, you will fully participate in the life of the school community, promoting and supporting its ethos, values and aims. The desired candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status recognised by the DfE, and specialise in a certain subject.We are quite open about what the subject is at this stage, but you must be open to expanding your horizons and learning new curriculums.

You will ideally have experience working with pupils with additional support needs / special educational needs. A full job description and person specification can be supplied on request.
