JOB TITLE: Electrical Fitters x 5

JOB LOCATION: Crewe, Cheshire

HOURLY RATE: £20 Ltd per hour

HOURS PER WEEK: Average 40 - 50 hours per week

SHIFTS: Mornings/Afternoons

SHIFT DAYS: Monday to Friday

DURATION: 12 months +

START DATE: ASAP

Position Summary:

The role is carrying out Electrical overhaul and maintenance. You will specifically with a focus on mechanical modifications, interior strip and replace.

Safety Critical position and is a requirement against the Service Agreement (SA). This position is the key focal point for the safe and reliable running of the fleet.

Position Summary

This position will be modifying Rolling Stock vehicles to meet the customer standards. This could involve working on all systems which examples would be doors, HVAC, driver controls, lighting, PIS (passenger information systems), signalling etc. You will be expected to complete Electrical re-fits from written work instruction, including traction motors, starter motors and underframe items on Rolling Stock. You will also be expected to remove and replace the entire interior and replace all electrical items.

This is a Safety Critical position and is a requirement against the Service Agreement (SA).

This could also include the following:

Removing and re-wiring HVAC systems

Working from detailed schematic drawings

Rip out and replace lighting

Re-install wiring

Exhaust modification (to reduce emissions)

Carry out basic Heating & Ventilation modifications

Repairing or installing Wi-Fi systems

Changing relay boxes

Wiper motors

Complete and sign written work documentation

Work on 3 phase systems

Person Profile/Experience:

Must be a team player

Must have an extensive knowledge of Electrical Engineering / Installations

Attention to detail is a crucial element of this position

Be able to work on and with large complicated wiring looms

Previous Rail experience is preferred but not essential. Ideal industry’s considered:

Rail

Avionics (commercial)

HVAC

Process Engineering

Production Plants

Special Purpose Machinery

Defence –Submarines / Ships / Aircraft

EX Forces Mechanical Engineer – Routine Maintenance on Aircraft/ helicopters/ HGV (REME, RAF, Navy)

Electrical Infrastructure Technician

Qualifications:

A formal qualification is a must

NVQ Level 3 / City and Guilds Level 3
