Role:

The Senior Project Manager will be required to plan, co-ordinate and manage the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of the plants Capex portfolio by directing a EPCm organisation and client team.

You will need to ensure clear agreement of client objectives and that these are met or exceeded, achieve or better the budgeted gross margin and provide strong HSE leadership

The site is a major hazard site which has a large geographical foot print covering a significant area. The site manufacture’s and handles a range of extremely hazardous chemicals, in addition the site is highly integrated both in the chemicals but also in the power, steam and services produced by and for third parties. The site is located in a highly populated area and could also have a significant environmental impact with local aquifers

Responsibilities:

Direct the implementation of all functions of project management.

Direct the internal company environment to meet the needs of a large project.

Direct the project through its development stages.

Effective management of Client contract, including delivery of the budget gross margin

Direct the planning and preparation of accurate project estimates.

Establish cost report for control of projects.

Monitoring and control of all cost aspects of the project to forecast costs, obtain approvals, identify trends and take action to avoid cost overruns and take advantage of opportunities

Work with project manager(s) to ensure that HSE requirements are documented and understood by all project participants

Compliance with HSE procedures

Maintain HSE focus for project duration

Requirements:

* Experience of Major Petrochemical Projects in FEED or EPC phases completed within a Top Tier COMAH site.

* Understands how the business delivers value to shareholders, what drives profitability and what increases growth.

* Able to make difficult decisions and lead and manage others in changing conditions.

* Excellent people management skills such as leadership, team, interpersonal, coaching, mentoring and supervisory skills. Must be able to build, motivate, develop and manage an effective team.

* Excellent management skills including the ability to plan, set goals; and manage time, priorities, resources, accountabilities, schedules and cost.

* Understands Vision and purpose, translates it into team goals and objectives, and gains team commitment to achieving those goals and objectives.

* Effectively manages and resolves conflict between individuals and/or groups.

* Negotiates successful outcomes that achieve the required objectives and have the support and acceptance of all parties.

* Pro-active, goal oriented with excellent attention to detail.

* Excellent customer focus and able to consistently meet its client’s needs.

* Effectively manages change to work tasks and the work environment, and assists others with adapting to change.

* A person of integrity who is trusted by others and consistently honours their commitments.

* Able to identify issues, problems and opportunities; make timely decisions; develop appropriate and innovative solutions; and ask for assistance if required.

* Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and groups, and make presentations when required.

* Demonstrates initiative and a willingness to learn and continuously improve on performance.

* Able to work on multiple projects of various size and complexity.

* Able to work effectively in small to large multi-disciplinary teams, and share and transfer knowledge within teams.

Experience Required:

* Extensive technical, practical and commercial experience, including proven ability in leading multidisciplinary activities and substantial experience as a project manager on projects in excess of GBP £100m total value.

* Proven ability to direct a project, with the direct supervision and coordination provided by an EPCm Organisation.

* Demonstrable commitment to HSE Management in a project environment, excellent leadership and communication skills and a high level of customer focus

* A recognised degree or equivalent qualification/experience.
