General Overview:

The role of the Project Managers will be to lead on all design and technical related matters to support the design and build process of a major project. Reporting into the Development Manager

Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:

* Managing entire professional Design Consultancy team through each RIBA Stage

* Liaise with the selected Design team and control/review all identified drawings to support the design and build.

* Achieve the critical path programme

* Liaise with the Development & Commercial Management team to ensure that all proposed designs and programmes can be successfully achieved within a specified budget

* The development of Contractor’s Proposals for inclusion in the bid submission

* Ensure coordinated approach to MEP and Utilities

* Working with the Planner to develop the most effective and efficient linked, design and construction programmes.

* Review of building methods and interaction to support the development of final build

* Assist Commercial Team on potential value engineering and design changes during the bid period.

* Obtain BREEAM and/or CFSH Pre-Assessments to ensure the bid complies with Employers Requirements/planning permission.

* Ensure that full design information appertaining to the bid is presented to the incumbent Delivery team at contract award

* Obtain, where necessary, samples and technical data to support any design changes and value engineering proposals


Required Experience & Qualifications:

* Up to date relevant knowledge of building legislation

* Up to date construction industry knowledge

* Residential/Social Housing Sector Knowledge/Experience

* Knowledge of methodology and sequencing process in delivering a construction project including design and pre-construction activities

* Understanding of design requirements for procurement and construction purposes

* Understanding of Construction contractual requirements

* Ability to drive issues through to completion

* Knowledge and ability to develop cost plans & pricing strategies
