**Procurement Leader **- 12 Month Contract - PAYE £39.34 - Defence-Barrow **

Our client is a leading defence organisation based in Barrow, Cumbria who are looking for a Procurement Professional to join there busy team.

The purpose of the role is to effectively manage 2 x key major subcontracts to ensure the flowdown of clauses from the Head Contract with the Customer, manage risk effectively in order to minimise exposure to the Company and negotiate commercially advantageous terms with the Supplier.

Key Responsibilities:

Key tasks required in order to achieve this include the

Preparation, negotiation and agreement of contract amendments with the Supplier, reviewing outstanding commercial actions with the Supplier on a regular basis, updating the obligations matrix annually to ensure compliance, carrying out regular configuration of both contracts and holding quarterly page turning sessions with the supplier to ensure consistency at a contractual level.
The management of claims between the Supplier and client in order to minimise exposure to the Company and lead the resolution of claims and costs in order to facilitate Boat contract closure.
This is also a managerial role, managing direct reports responsible for the delivery of Equipment into the Business. Therefore, the role will involve carrying out Monthly Performance Reviews and Performance Development Reviews on a regular basis and the development of Personal Development Plans with direct reports.
A good level of financial awareness is desirable as the post holder will be responsible for the management of in year cash to support the Company's cash position

Experience required for this role:

Procurement Specialist
People management - softer skills, good at relationship management with stakeholders, customers and suppliers. Some UK travel with nights away. Able to react quickly, but overall proactive. Meet deadlines.
At least 5 years at managing people and managing major contracts. Commercial background would be helpful.
