Apprentice Coach - North

This role will be covering our Northern Region Retail Estate and therefore ideally access to locations such as Northumberland, North Cumbria and Scotland will be required.
What you will be doing
As an Apprenticeship coach, you’ll provide high quality face to face and remote coaching to our Retail apprentices to ensure they achieve the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to complete their Level 3 Travel Consultant standard.
You will also work closely with the retail teams at all levels to educate, promote, and achieve apprenticeships successfully ensuring that apprenticeships are at the top of the retail people agenda.
The responsibilities of the role will be to:
Build and maintain effective relationships with learners, their colleagues, management teams and other departments.
Evaluate, update and feedback on learning plans to learners and their managers.
Provide support and guidance to all learners and managers in the use of our apprenticeship learning management system.
Seek regular feedback from learners and their management teams to highlight trends, identify potential issues, share successes and develop ideas for improvement.
Design and update the training materials and content
Contribute to our Quality Improvement Plan and Self-Assessment Report.
Provide, maintain and develop regular meaningful learning data.
Keep learner portfolios up to date at all times by:
- Completing reviews on a quarterly basis
- Signing off learner’s work according to our Service Level Agreement
Champion our responsibilities in the area of Data Protection to ensure other teams understand how to safeguard sensitive learner data in line with the GDPR.
Proactively and consistently provide quality data to the team and follow the awarding body / Ofsted/ ESFA guidelines of compliance
Work closely with the Early Talent and Apprenticeship team to consistently improve, develop and implement processes and procedures to enhance the learning experience.
Act as a subject matter expert in order to support new members of the team or newly introduced qualifications.
Actively participate in cross collaboration with other teams within HR and the wider business in order to improve ways of working and develop consistent processes.
At all times work in accordance with the Early Talent & Apprenticeship “Learner Journey” and associated policies and procedures.
Proactively seek and report on learner achievement in order to support nominations for recognition for both internal and external awards.
Provide pro-active and insightful support to the team for exercises including but not limited to, Awarding body or Ofsted visits.
Take responsibility for your own continuous professional development to ensure that programmes are delivered in-line with awarding organisation and funding body requirements.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting learners and delivering high quality learning programmes, including apprenticeship standards and helping learners to succeed. You’ll be efficient and effective and have the drive and energy to make a difference in each learner’s journey. Excellent attention to detail alongside your technical skills will be key factors in being successful in this role.
- Proven communication and presentation skills combined with the ability to work effectively at all levels of the business
- Demonstrable ability to engage and inspire others
- Previous experience or in depth practical understanding of travel retail operations
- A track record of managing a busy workload with competing priorities
- Willingness and ability to quickly learn new tools and work towards new qualifications if needed
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to visit learners as per case-load, per geographical allocation, some overnight stays may be required
- Full, current driving licence
- Functional skills/ GCSEs in Maths and English at level 2
- Experience with MS Office Suite or Office 365, would be an advantage
- Assessor qualification
- Teaching qualification
- Knowledge of apprenticeship frameworks and standards
- Knowledge of the Common Inspection Framework and Ofsted requirements
- Knowledge of awarding organisation quality assurance processes and procedures
