The company are a specialist on-line sports retailer.
We have developed e-mail software that we are launching in 2019 and are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to help them with this and manage the website.
You will be given the opportunity to work alongside and learn from colleagues who have a wealth of knowledge and experience in software development.

As a young business, we are constantly improving our business processes to ensure we provide a great experience to our growing customer base. With this in mind, we are offering an exciting opportunity for a driven individual to become a Software Developer Apprentice.
You will be given the opportunity to help manage our web sites, liaise and learn from out IT manager, who has extensive knowledge of developing sophisticated web sites.
Main role / Responsibilities [will include but not be limited to]:Work with the IT manager across a variety of technologies to provide software support to clients Developing bespoke software, mainly using Microsoft Technologies You will learn how to maximize sales through multi-channel marketing such as web site SEO, e-mail, Google PPC, Google shopping, Facebook, Pinterest, and other social media, and many other channels Contribute to the production of innovative design against challenging user and performance requirements Contribute towards the implementation of approved designs To learn the technical languages most commonly used and demonstration your understanding and its practical application Regularly collaborate with team members To take ownership for delivery of software projects to timescale and quality standards and report progress to your IT Manager
Desired qualities, skills and knowledge:Passion, enthusiasm and basic knowledge of Software Development & Social Media platforms Ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels, both verbally and written A methodical and logical approach to problem solving An analytical mind-set An excellent team player with flexibility to work with different people on different projects Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Good organizational and time management skills
The ideal candidate would:Have an interest in sport If you have developed your own web pages or web site, or have an interest in maintaining a web site – that could be an advantage If you already have a working knowledge of social media – beyond just using it – that would also help
Desired qualification requirements:
6 x GCSE (or equivalent) at grades A-C including Maths plus GCSE English (or equivalent) at grade D or above.
Monday - Friday,
9am – 5:30pm,
37.5hrs per week, [all details will be confirmed with the employer]
£180 a week

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you could be offered a full-time role within the company as a Software Developer with a salary review.
QA’s apprenticeships are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for Education.
To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.
