Lead an operational team delivery a high quality and cost-effective multi-disciplinary service in line with policies, practices, procedures and legislation. Work collaborative with internal and external organisations, partners and clients to ensure that the wide-ranging impact of the HR Delivery Team meets business needs. This role will have specific lead on the NHS as a new payroll client, to ensure the successful running and delivery of the payroll, and to support the business in securing further NHS Trust payroll clients and widening business scope.

Experience

  • NHS payroll processing and knowledge of the ESR system
  • Considerable experience of managing a large team delivering various aspects of HR, payroll, outsourcing service, and administration
  • Developing, evaluating and implementing HR and payroll policies/ practices offering cost effective and income generating services
  • Sound experience of complex terms and conditions of employment, very diverse workforces and a mixed client base
  • Implementing performance management in a changing and developing environment
  • Experience of monitoring a budget with income targets and medium term planning

Qualifications

  • NVQ5 or equivalent or CIPD / CIPP advanced levels or equivalent

Knowledge

  • Expert knowledge of personnel policies, practices, terms and conditions, employment and payroll legislation
  • Sound knowledge of Oracle/iTrent or similar large database systems in HR, payroll and document management
  • Understanding of the main strategic issues of NHS and client groups
  • Knowledge of implementing user testing on Oracle or similar
