George Truman is recruiting for a Site Maintenance Engineer to join a company in the Renewable Energy industry at their site based in Leeming, North Yorkshire on a permanent basis.

The Company:
At their Leeming site our client operates an anaerobic digestion facility which processes food waste into biomethane and electricity and supplies bio-methane to the National Grid.

The Role:
Our client is looking for an experienced Site Maintenance Engineer to join their dedicated team in Leeming, North Yorkshire. The successful candidate will be working Monday - Friday (0800 - 1630hrs) As part of the ongoing development of the site, they require a flexible individual to provide on-site electrical and mechanical maintenance services and assist with the general operation of the facility. Reporting to the Site Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking scheduled pre-preventative maintenance and carrying out breakdown repairs as necessary on the site's process and electrical equipment, maintaining records of completed work (via a reporting SAP system) and in accordance with the companies Health and Safety and Company Operating Procedures.

The main purpose of the role will be to
- Carry out preliminary first-line diagnostic, fault finding, breakdown repairs.
- Planned preventative maintenance and condition monitoring of plant equipment as required including but not limited to; Pumps, Macerators, Motors, CHP, Flare, Instrumentation and MCC systems etc
- Be able to plan, prepare and implement planned plant shutdown in accordance with the PPM schedule.
- Interface with the sites Computerised Maintenance Management System in accordance with company operating procedures and identify areas that require additional work within and outside of the specified contractual requirements.
- Report any requirements or changes to the Site Manager with estimated material costs and labour requirements.
- Ensure and maintain a superior level of aesthetics and housekeeping in and around the plant, equipment and buildings.
- Provide assistance and supervision of contractors working on site.
- Be part of a 1-3 on-call rota.

Your Background:
To succeed in this role you will be able to carry out a variety of maintenance tasks and duties related to the role competently and efficiently. The successful candidate must hold qualifications in one or more of the following disciplines; Maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Control & Instrumentation Maintenance discipline and hold the relevant certificates.

You must possess excellent communications skills and be able to understand/act on both verbal and written instructions/procedures, have a methodical approach to your work and be able to work under pressure. You need to be able to complete forms (permit to work, engineers' worksheets, PPM sheets, expenses forms) competently and accurately (after training).

You will have good PC skills and knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, PPM's and Condition monitoring techniques. You must hold a Full Driving licence and Forklift truck licence (is desirable but not essential). You will have previously worked within operations as an engineer ideally in the Food & Beverage, Chemical or Water Industry and able to work on own initiative. Training will be provided to the right candidate to fill in any skill gaps.
