Accounts Assistant role for a 12 Months Fixed Term Contract to cover a maternity leave. Large business based in Abingdon with parking and public transport links.

Client Details

My client is an impressive Global business who are very passionate about what they do. Based in Abingdon, they have parking on site and good public transport links. The environment of the business feeds through to their office where they have over 50 staff and have a great team working attitude where everyone gets on and works together.

You will report directly into the Head of Finance. This is a full time role as part of a team of four in the Finance department.


Accounts Assistant key responsibilities:

  • Allocation of cash receipts and payments against sales and purchase ledgers
  • Processing of foreign payment run
  • Processing and controlling of fixed asset and month end reconciliations
  • Organising robust fixed asset audit processes
  • Month end accruals
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Review employee expenses
  • Review and post credit card and travel transactions
  • Review and post sales invoices
  • Review and post intercompany recharges
  • Providing cover for purchase ledger
  • Other ad hoc duties as required


The successful Accounts Assistant must:

  • Have previous experience of working in finance departments
  • Strong level of Microsoft office skills
  • Be able to work on your own initiative as well as in a team
  • Be able to work well under pressure

Job Offer

Accounts Assistant job on offer:

  • £25000 - £27000
  • 40 hour working week with the standard day being 8.30am to 5.30pm
