A world leader in aerospace component manufacturing are currently searching for an experienced Test Engineer to carry out product testing, fault diagnostics of production and returns, 8D report generation, obsolescence replacement verification, and test sets and rigs development. If you have a HNC or higher in Electronics Engineering with previous electronics product test experience then we want to hear from you.

Duties:
Ensure product meets performance and quality requirements through product testing in accordance with acceptance test specifications and defined test procedures.
Develop test plans and test specifications for system, sub-assembly and board level testing, and firmware programming and testing.
Ensure test efficiency and performance specifications are achieved through developing appropriate test sets and test jigs.
Ensure faults are diagnosed in a methodological and efficient manner for both internal failures and customer returns.
Conduct root cause analysis and liaise with Engineering on recommended corrective actions, follow up with generating failure investigative 8D reports where appropriate.
Identify persistent problems and pattern trends and generate containment and preventative measures.
Ensure all test equipment is maintained and in calibration.
Be conscious of production timelines and cost budgets and satisfy departmental KPI's.
Promote best practices to ensure ease of manufacture and testability.
Support verification testing for obsolescence replacement in legacy products and new product introduction.
Conduct high voltage testing.
Be an active participant in the continuous improvement programme within the Test Department and ensure all Health and Safety requirements are met.

Experience:
HNC/HND/BTEC or higher equivalent in Electronic Engineering
Must have extensive relevant electronics product test experience and be competent in fault finding to component level
Able to read and interpret electronic circuit schematics
Must have a good understanding of test methodologies
Fluent in operating basic and advanced electronic test equipment (DVM, Bench Power supplies, functional generators, spectrum analyzer, power analyzer, oscilloscopes, isolation testers, etc)
Good understanding of basic and advanced electronic components and analytical ability of electronic circuity
Experience in designing, building and commissioning test sets and test jigs
Must be able to perform soldering to IPC standards
