Purpose of the Role

To be an effective team member, working with contracts manager and project specific colleagues to ensure the smooth workflow with maximum output for the Company on a nuclear project as the project engineer will play a vital supporting role in a multi-million-pound project for Hinkley Point C.

Specific Activities

*To work with the Contracts Manager and the Hinkley Point Project Specialist in interpreting the client's requirements and work closely with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to ensure the effective conclusion of contracts
*Liaise and coordinate with Design Engineering & and contract specific personnel for the timely submission of all documentation
*Liaise with production to organise and prioritise workload within a schedule to meet project deadline
*Coordinates the project responsibilities by assisting in the identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements
*Asist in the contract review process
*Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities and highlighting problems.
*Assist the Contracts Manager by helping with reviewing plan and schedule changes and highlighting any discrepancies.
*Respond to any client questions, concerns or requests throughout the project in a timely manner and escalate and signpost on as and when required
*To attend project specific meetings and action/ communicate instructions as directed
*Track changes and participate in customer meetings when required
*Ensure compliance with the Health, Safety and Environment Policy within the department


*Ideally having some experience of working within or supplying to the Nuclear sector
*Experience of working within HVAC
*Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to spot errors
*Strong analytical skills
*Ability to work with varying seniority levels, including staff, managers and customers
*Project management experience
*Previous experience for working in an engineering environment
*Ability to read and understand technical drawings

*Good understanding of contractual, technical and regulatory aspects
*Excellent writing skills
*Ability to travel to customer's locations (which includes overseas) as and when required
*Good technical knowledge (of products)
*Good understanding of customer expectations and deliverables
*Awareness of Quality Assurance including ISO 9001:2015
*Project Risk Management


*Prince 2 or equivalent Project Management qualification
*Relevant engineering level 3 qualification
*Problem solving Techniques
*ECDL (European Computer Driving License) or equivalent level of IT skills
*Educated to GCE/GCSE or equivalent

*Continuous Improvement Techniques
*Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Project Engineering
*Understanding of lean processes
*Knowledge of heating and ventilation market (HVAC)
*Nuclear Safety

Other Useful Information
*The ability to travel to projects/ customers as and when required, which may be overseas.
