Role: Product Manager
Salary: Up to £35,000 depending on experience
Our client provides innovative solutions to help employers and their workforce.
The role sits within the Product Development department, a team which provides product support to the entire business and external partners; product testing and verification; project/programme management for new product introductions.
You will be the conduit between the company’s global sales & marketing resources and suppliers, product development teams and cloud software team.
You will learn from customers & sales resources as well as assess other market data and channel effective communications into the engineering/product development team.
You will also help effectively communicate the product outputs from the engineering/product development team and 'translate’ into use by sales & marketing resources
You will input into product direction & strategy based on your knowledge & all market data our client collates and maintain product roadmaps and lifecycle plans
You will also provide regular product updates (including roadmap and lifecycle) for the company as well as our 3rd party channel and export partners.
You will use a Aha! product management software to achieve all of the above.
Your responsibilities will include:
Proactively engaging regularly with all sales functions and ensuring their knowledge of our products is exemplary. Become the 'go to’ guru to support sales staff on any customer questions/requirements
Presenting and Demonstrating products and services to customers, alongside sales teams.
Authoring and publishing all product bulletins, application notes, training slides, help content, getting started guides and user manuals.
Ensuring that the features & functionality, current status and future roadmap of each product is clearly and effectively communicated to key stakeholders via the Aha! Product Management tool.
Working with marketing teams to provide product content and ensure all product marcoms and websites are current & accurate.
Working with 3rd party stakeholders to understand and satisfy their requirements.
Becoming Product Owner for several of our key products, and lead the definition of epics, user stories, and acceptance tests with our developers, testers and end user representatives.
Building a good relationship and working closely with both our internal and external product suppliers devices and wearables, mobile applications, and the cloud based device management system.
Setting and maintaining the timeline for product lifecycles, gaining buy-in from the senior management team, matching it to the company’s strategic plans and goals, and to include any refresh or 'early kill’ based on market feedback
Understanding and making happen all appropriate localization/translation
Understanding all relevant market making standards in all countries to ensure our product compliance & understanding
Working with Operations and Finance to ensure appropriate set up of product records in all company business support IT systems.
Representing the business in a highly professional way, acting in an advisory capacity with all stakeholders
Providing accurate, honest and valuable insight to the senior management team
Managing product enhancement ideas received from around the business and play a key role in assessing their business value and scheduling them in to product releases.
Defining and leading our User Acceptance Test process with our end user representatives. Managing feedback from the test process: triage, collate and create clear issues for the development teams to resolve.
Managing customer feedback and provide clear and effective analysis of product issue reports.
Working with our legal teams on GDPR and Data Protection requirements for products and processes.
Managing the full product lifecycle of products from conception to obsolescence.
The successful candidate:
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
You will be an enthusiastic, diligent and detailed 'people person’ with a desire to pick up the challenge of helping the business with its product related communications. You are likely to have held product management roles in other B2B environments and should have a demonstrable ability to 'make things happen’ and desire to be the best in your field. You should be a great listener but also be capable of articulate reasoning, presenting arguments to effect change where required. You should have an engaging personality.
You should have tertiary qualifications in a relevant technology/business discipline, or equivalent demonstrable workplace experience.
You should have experience and knowledge in applicable technologies to our business such as Call Centres, cellular/wireless networks, embedded electronics, or SaaS platforms and applications.
Must be able to thrive in a fast moving high-pressure environment and be capable of self-motivation. Demonstrable evidence of how you have effectively communicated with others is essential.
Experience with MS Office essential.
Experience with Aha! Product Management software (or similar) is highly desirable, as experience with Office 365 and CRM applications.
Clean driving license and willingness to fly to other locations is essential.
