The Role
To oversee quality related operations and activities as well as the workers performing those jobs; this includes auditing and inspecting the site process and controls.

Working with QA Manager to implement full QA system throughout production areas
To collect micro samples for finished products, raw materials, WIP products, shelf life, water and carry-out swabbing on floors, drains, equipment and hands, and do air plates according to micro schedule. To ensure that all samples are registered and sent to lab for testing;
To ensure out of micro results are retested according to the procedure in the place;
Fully understand and assist in cascading the QA system to all employees within the production areas. (Goods In, Low Care, High Care, Picking & Dispatch)
Liaise with Production Managers and Supervisors to ensure the highest standard of food safety and quality
To document all process deviations and non-conforming products by raising non-conformances, concession, hold note and supplier non-conformances and follow all those for proper corrective actions. All process deviation and non-conforming products must be recorded on the relevant logs;
Daily GMP/Fabrication/Product/Quality audits
To ensure all daily documents and paperwork are checked and verified
Internal audits completed to BRC QMS
Carry out Induction training and any other reasonable tasks that are required as part of the needs of the business.
Liaise with suppliers with regard to product quality and specification.
Coach and mentor production operatives on the correct completion of all QA paperwork.

Ideal Candidate Background

High level of attention to detail
Strong communication skills and a desire to learn
Flexible due to rota incorporating weekend work

It would be advantageous to have:

Technical/Quality background with a proven experience in a Quality Assurance role;
Possess the appropriate level of technical knowledge and ability;
Experience of working in a chilled food manufacturing environment;
HACCP, food safety and auditing skills trained a plus.
