BESD Teaching Assistant required for a Powys school
CER are seeking experienced Teaching Assistants who are passionate about working with students with Challenging behaviour as well as SEN learners. One particular client school requires two to one support on a day to day, short-term and long-term basis as well as classroom assistants.
You will be expected to assist Teachers or particular pupils within lessons and provide support in literacy and numeracy or specific requirements, helping your allocated pupils achieve their educational and social goals.
The school works with students from KS2 to Post 16, with small and manageable class sizes, and is set in a beautiful location near to Welshpool & Shrewsbury. They strive to not only support children's curricular development but also exposing them to extra curriculum activities. They have facilities including, but not limited to; a music centre, design technology workshop, trampolining and a well-being space.
Experience in de-escalation of challenging behaviour as well as restraint handling qualifications in Team Teach / Price etc. would be desirable however not essential. More than anything the school is looking for a personable and und upbeat individual who has a passion for working with children of all abilities.
Staff will require EWC registration and a Child only DBS on the update Service, however, CER will support staff who do not have this with our rebate service.
