Our client is recruiting for their Engineering Department

Would you like to be a part of our clients team that develops technical solutions for current and future train connection systems?

They have exciting opportunities to strengthen the Engineering team in their Gangway Engineering department in the UK and are looking for:

1 Lead Engineer
In this position, you are responsible of the technical design in their customer projects around the world. You are the main interface to the customers in project specific design issues and manage the technical part of the project during the entire engineering process until first article inspection and first assembly on train.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Technical project management
  • Perform detail and system design per customer specifications
  • Prepare project documents and drawings
  • Manage project meetings and design reviews, both internal and external
  • Review and approve drawings and documents
  • Participate at internal and external First Article Inspection
  • Create and follow design time plan according to customer specifications and company project plan
  • Be main interface for other departments regarding project specific design

The ideal candidate for the position will have:

  • A Batchelors or Masters Degree or equivalent qualification (HNC) in design / manufacturing / production / mechanical engineering.
  • 4+ years of engineering experience
  • CAD experience
  • Experience from project management
  • Strong technical understanding and analytical skills
  • Strong project management skills, ability to drive tasks towards goals and deliver on time
  • Customer orientated approach
  • Team orientated with good interpersonal skills and cooperation with colleagues and other departments.
  • Well organised, highly motivated for the job and with an open attitude.
  • Fluent English skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to travel UK and abroad

1 Mechanical Design Engineer
In this position, your focus is to analyse and evaluate new opportunities to contribute to the development of company products.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Create, draft, design and develop train connection products using customer specifications and recommendations.
  • Conduct pre-studies and development projects
  • Ensure that our products are compliant to international directives and standards as well as customer requirements and company policy
  • Design and modify equipment for fabricating, assembling and installing components.
  • Monitor technology development in the field through customer visits, exhibitions and technical literature
  • Ensure appropriate reporting and documentation
  • Support in prototype assembly

The ideal candidate for the position will have:

  • A Batchelors or Masters Degree or equivalent qualification (HNC) in design / manufacturing / production / mechanical engineering.
  • 2+ years of engineering experience
  • Excellence in CAD, preferably Inventor and Vault. It´s a plus if you have a proven record in design of technical solutions.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Team orientated with good interpersonal skills and cooperation with colleagues and other departments.
  • Good communication skills with ability to transfer your knowledge in an instructive, easy-to-understand way.
  • Self-motivated and result oriented
  • Well organised, highly motivated for the job and with an open attitude.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to travel UK and abroad

These positions are based in Swadlincote, Derbyshire and report to the Engineering Manager.
