Press Brake Setter
Operate the Press brake Machines and support the production team by assembling parts, operating machinery, punching or sorting of metal products as instructed by supervisors. Produce a variety of parts, all of which must meet the dimensional specifications of the engineered drawings. This position may include all or some of the duties and responsibilities listed below. You will sometimes be required to work in other areas of the factory.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Operate the Amada Press Brakes and other machinery used in the production process, or assist other machine operators.
Select proper punches and dies based on material thickness and type
Set up tooling, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.
Determine if tools are undamaged and in safe condition for use.
Work in a fast-paced environment with fast changing priorities.
Keep work area clean and organised.
Follow all company rules and policies.
Follow all safety rules and quality standards.
Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
Work with team members to maximise productivity and efficiency.
Uphold all ISO standards applicable to the responsibilities above.
Consistently produce usable product that meets the dimensional specifications of the engineered drawings
Logging on/off the Fabritrak system as required.
Attend work on the shift times established by the employer and without excessive absenteeism or lateness.
Arrive and be ready to work at the time your shift starts.
Ensure quantities are adhered to and take care with product counts.
Always wear supplied and appropriate personal protective equipment.
Work a reasonable amount of overtime when requested.
2+ years of experience operating and programming Press Brake machines (Amada preferred).
Solid background working with sheet metal.
Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance.
Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminium, Steel and Stainless Steel
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to multitask and prioritise in an effective way.
Flexible schedule is required; this position requires shift work as well as some weekend work.
Knowledge of engineered specified tolerances and engineering drawings.
Attention to detail.
Ability to follow procedures.
Standing for long periods of time
Regular lifting of parts and carrying of parts
It can be humid dependant on outside weather conditions
Personal protection equipment is supplied and required to be worn
