REED Finance is working exclusively to recruit a Reporting Team Leader for a period of up to 12 months. The post holder will manage a team within the finance function who produce the financial reports, respond to ad hoc information requests and perform a range of financial control activity. The role will suit an individual with experience of working in a central team providing financial information to a wide range of stakeholders, with knowledge of best practice report production techniques.

A project has commenced to upgrade the ERP system. This will require a change in the reporting tools used and a rewriting of the existing reports. Members of the existing team are being seconded onto the implementation project, creating a requirement for someone to manage the team.

To make the most of the new system and in recognition the ever increasing importance of informatio we are looking for someone to:

• Ensure the team continues to operate well
• Review the teams approach to prioritisation and report creation
• Review Financial reporting undertaken outside of the team to assess if it should be brought in
• Support the team and wider Finance function transition to the new system

The aim being to develop the teams day-to-day working practises so that the improvements from the new system do no stop at go-live but continue to be developed.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Recognised Accountancy Qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Significant experience of working with Financial information
• Excellent interpersonal skills; an ability to influence and enact change
• Strong background of producing information in a complex organisation, with competing service demands
• Experience of managing and developing a team
• Understanding of the importance of controls to ensure good data integrity
• Preference for a qualified accountant, but will consider candidates who can demonstrate a good appreciation of the challenges and requirements of financial reporting.

Note

This role will support the existing Finance activity and although will have some interaction with the project but will not be seconded onto it. The primary focus is to improve the existing activity to ensure that the team is ready for go-live and can deal with the inevitable increase in reporting/information requests.
