CNC Machine Shop Supervisor / Team Leader

Role:

We have an immediate position available for an experienced CNC Machine shop supervisor / team leader to join one of the UK’s biggest Manufacturing businesses based near Aylesbury.

This role would suit a candidate with a thorough understanding of machining practices with demonstrable experience as a team leader / supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing manufacturing strategies and action plans, as directed by the Manufacturing Manager, to ensure that the manufacturing facility supports the business strategic objectives.
  • Conduct Performance & Development Appraisals and identify training needs, train and develop the Machine Shop personnel, to create a multi skilled, flexibility and motivated team in conjunction with Manufacturing Manager.
  • Building existing products and working with engineering to provide input to new developments and existing products.
  • Working in a small multi-disciplined team, responsible for the day to day running of the Machine Shop section.
  • Using the MRP to system to ensuring stock is well maintained and accurately booked to jobs.
  • Working in co-operation with other Manufacturing teams to ensure the product is of the quality and standards expected.
  • Holding daily team planning meetings and managing workload.
  • Ensuring that production documentation is kept up-to-date.
  • Implementation of lean manufacturing activities as directed by the Manufacturing Manager.
  • Daily monitoring and achievement of manufacturing targets to include quality metrics, productivity metrics. Ensuring compliance with manufacturing safety, process, procedures and quality assurance standards

Essential:

  • CNC Machine Setting & Operating
  • Programming using CADCAM software
  • Understanding of using material requirements planning (MRP) systems to control and monitor inventory

Desirable Experience:

HAAS Machining experience

Manual machining background

3D modelling software (ONE CNC)
